Sorrel (Sheep's)

$7.00

A rare sour herb with notes of lemon. It's high in oxalic acid, which gives it its tangy taste (like Rhubarb), vitamin C and beta-carotene. Good food pairings include asparagus, beans, chard, garlic, grains, leeks, lemon, lentils, parsley and spinach. You can eat the leaves raw in salad or brew a tea or 'lemonade' of them, in moderation. The Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center reports that the anthraquinones in sheep sorrel increase muscular activity and fluid secretion in your intestines, helping stimulate movement of food through your digestive tract and preventing constipation. :::8 Weeks:::
