July 1, 2020Beet and potato soup • beet chips • fried grain • salmon roe • sour cream • oxalis ———————————————————————— It has been a while since I last made soup. I’m not super big on gazpacho—someone, please change my mind—or chilled soups in general so here is an unseasonably hearty, warm bowl with a bunch of crispy things on it. My mom used to grow this massive oxalis plant. It was purely for optics—we didn’t know it was edible or how prevalently it would be used in fine dining many years later. Due to its resemblance to the human heart, Oxalis goes by the common name Sarangcho (사랑초) in Korea. “Sarang” is Korean for “love” and I used to think that was so beautiful that you could nurture and grow Love just like that. #homechef #theartofplating #platingfood #culinary4all #eeeeeatsnyc #f52grams #firstwefeast #homecook #homecooked #homecooking #nyceats #eatprettythings #nomnom #newforkcity #feedfeed #inthekitchen #makeitdelicious #eatcaptureshare #foodblogger #gastromeals #whatsfordinner #cookingathome #epicplateup #epicurious #onmyplate #damnthatsdelish #foodgawker #onthetable #letscook #hautescuisines
