Spice up a classic with Oliver Holt's take on a Negroni. This recipe can be made with store bought sweet vermouth or, but we recommend trying it with our Farm Basket Sweet Vermouth.

Part 1: Summer Savory Infused Gin

Ingredients

  • 0.5oz Farm.One Summer Savory
  • 12oz Gin (recommend Botanist Gin or similar)

Recommended Tools

Method

Without removing the Summer Savory, fill the included mason jar with your favorite gin, making sure to cover all the Summer Savory. Tightly seal and shake to completely saturate the herbs, and set aside for at least two days. Shake every day or so, and don’t be afraid to infuse for longer. When ready to use, remove the Savory or strain into a seperate bottle. Yields 12oz infused rum/twelve cocktails.

Part 2: Summer Savory Negroni

Ingredients

  • 1oz Summer Savory Infused Gin
  • 1oz Aperitivo (recommend Forthave Red or Greenhook Ginsmiths St. Agrestis Amaro)
  • 1oz Sweet Vermouth
  • 1 Orange
  • 1 Large Ice Cube

Method

Combine ingredients in a mixing glass and fill with ice. Stir about 40 times, or until the glass feels frosty on the outside. Because the cocktail will be served on the rocks, it’s better to under-stir than over-stir. Strain onto a large rock and garnish with an orange twist.
