mattsvegan
February 12, 2020@orderoctober recently opened on Broome Street in Manhattan, with an incredibly allergen-friendly menu: all vegan, with no soy, gluten, or nuts. ⠀ ⠀ The resulting menu is very vegetable-focused. And it was delicious. I tried a kale and Brussels sprouts salad, cauliflower gnocchi, and the Baja bowl (with marinated mushrooms, black beans, cauliflower rice and smashed avocado). ⠀ ⠀ Everything was extremely flavorful - but also felt very healthy. They have that combination just right. ⠀ ⠀ But, that’s not all. October has some other unique aspects: small windows in the floor reveal where a mini farm of micro-greens will soon be growing, to feed customers hyperlocally - and the owner told me that the greens in my salad were grown down the street. The restaurant uses no plastic - opting for environmentally-friendly utensils instead. And, all these great things are presented in a modernized, fast-casual restaurant that is reasonably priced. ⠀ ⠀ That mix is truly unique, and I highly recommend checking it out.
