Basil (Purple Amethyst)

This variation on basil has thick leaves and a deep purple color as opposed to the more common genovese variety. The leaves and flowers of this annual plant are edible and are the perfect garnish for cocktails, salads, soups, and desserts. Both the flowers and leaves present a pungent basil flavor.
