Arugula nuttiness with even more flavor and a delicate red streak
Arugula, or garden rocket (after the French “roquette”) is a widely popular cruciferous salad green closely related to radish and kale. This Mediterranean plant produces a sharp spiciness mixed with a subtle woodsy, nutty flavor. Bursting through the center of of this rare variety lies a central, wine-red streak with veins branching off from it. Keeping with its native region, arugula pairs nicely with cheese plates or pizzas (like fig and burrata) or can add a unique punch to any ordinary salad or pesto.
